Task Rates

Tasks you acquire in Raterhub will have a “Average Estimated Time” or AET displayed in the top ribbon of the task. AET is defined in Raterhub in minutes and this is the range of time expected to take to complete the task e.g. 2 - 3 minutes. In this instance 3 minutes is the upper AET range and it should take no more than 3 minutes to complete this task.

Your pay each month will be based on the total number of tasks you complete within the AET. For payment purposes the AET upper range will be recorded. A “per minute rate” (the equivalent of 1 minute of the hourly rate shared during the recruitment process) is applied to the AET upper for each task. We use this to determine your monthly payment. Please see the example below which you may reference to calculate your payment.

Total Payment = Task AET Upper * Per Minute AET Rate * Total Tasks completed

For more details on AET we recommend visiting the Task Timings page.

You may track the number of tasks completed by visiting the Task Counts page.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Do I need to log my time?
A: No, you do not need to update or submit a worksheet. Raterhub tracks all tasks you complete and we use this data to calculate your monthly payment.

Q: What constitutes a full reporting week?
A: Your reporting week runs from Monday to Sunday inclusive (Pacific time).

Q: How can I track the tasks I complete?
A: Raterhub tracks the tasks you complete. Every day (at approx. noon Pacific time), the total number of tasks completed within each AET will be published on the Task Counts page for you to monitor. Remember, task counts will be published for tasks completed up to the end of day (Pacific time) the previous day.

Q: When reviewing task counts, do I need to consider the timezone?
A: Yes, the date a task is considered to have been rated is based on the Pacific time zone. Please keep this in mind when reviewing your Task Counts.

Q: What should I do if I do not see my task counts on the task count page?
A: Please visit the announcement section of this portal to check if we have added any updates.

Q: If I exceed the AET displayed will the task be included in my payment?
A: Your payment will be calculated based on your per minute rate and the total number of tasks completed within the AET upper range displayed in the top ribbon of the task, regardless of how long it takes you to rate the task.

Q: If I complete a task faster than the AET displayed, will I be paid for the full AET or only the time I spent on the task?
A: Your payment will be calculated based on the AET upper range displayed in the top ribbon of the task, regardless of how long it takes you to rate the task. For example, a task with an AET of 2-3 minutes, payment will be processed for the AET upper range of 3 minutes. It is important to note that in order to maintain the quality standards on the task it is recommended that you take the time to carefully rate each task while staying within the AET.

Q: What should I do if tasks are taking me longer to complete than the AET shown?
A: The expectation of the Internet Safety Search Evaluator Program is that you can complete the tasks within the Average Estimated Time shown in the top ribbon of the task. If you feel you cannot complete a task within the AET displayed, please release the task and report the reason e.g. “The average estimated time is too low”. Note, released tasks are not counted.
